Having Difficulty Logging On?

In order to recognise a user who has logged into the Market Informer website, the website stores a session cookie on your web browser. Sometimes, people experience difficulties with logging in due to the security settings on their browser.

The first step in attempting to resolve this problem is to determine whether it is solely due to the Security Software that may be installed on your computer. Some security software can be configured to prevent remote servers storing a cookie on your browser.

In order to test this, on Windows, find the icon for your security software in the system tray (near the clock) right click on it with your mouse and turn it off (only for the duration of the test, you can turn it back on afterwards). After this we will restore the browser to its default settings, for the purpose of this exercise we will assume that you are using Internet Explorer. However similar functions may be available to other browsers, in that case refer to the help documentation for those browsers.

In Internet Explorer, go to:
Tools Menu -> Internet Options.
in the Temporary Internet Files section click on the buttons, "Delete Cookies", "Delete Files" and in the History section click on "Clear History". When prompted to delete the files click on the "OK" button.

On the Security Tab, select the Internet Icon (the image of the globe), and in the bottom part of the dialogue, select the "Default Level" button. Also do the same for Local Intranet, Trusted Sites and Restricted Sites.

On the privacy tab select the Default button. This should set the level to medium.

That should be all that is required, click on Apply and OK. Then close and open the browser.

You should now be able to login to the market informer website.

Try logging out and then reactivating the internet security program in your system tray. If you cannot login with the security program enabled, you will need to refer to the help documentation for your program in order to determine how to adjust its settings appropriately. This may mean you may have to add the Market Informer website into a list of trusted websites within your security program.

I can't open the PDF files.

Some people have reported difficulties when they attempt to open a PDF newsletter from the Market Informer site.

In order to assist with this problem, we have provided three different means of accessing the newsletter.

When using the DOWNLOAD button it is best to save the file to your hard drive when prompted. Then you can open the file from Adobe Acrobat or another PDF reader once it is downloaded.

The "EMAIL TO ME" button will send the PDF file to your registered email address for your current username. If you have more than one account with Market Informer, it is easy to forget which email address belongs to which username. Check all of the email addresses you have used if you cannot remember which one it is. You will receive the PDF document as an email attachment. Again, save this file to your hard drive and use a PDF viewer to open it.

The "Alternative Link" will open the PDF document in a separate window. You may need to have the Adobe Acrobat plugin installed (which is installed when you install the Reader). It will open the PDF document inside the web browser's window. If you do not have such a plugin, save the file to your disk when prompted and open it in a reader once it is downloaded.
